Creative Development and Educational Media Production

Rich media - a combination of video, audio, animation, text and interactivity - is a proven winner in engaging students. It can aid the learning process by presenting complex concepts in an accessible manner or it can be utilized to present conflicting points of view, varied contexts and authentic experience not possible within the confines of the classroom. Rich media provides reusable learning resources and increasingly, students are presenting media as assessable work.

The Creative Development Group within the Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU) can help you incorporate rich media into your teaching programs.

Creative Development Unit

Our approach is to work holistically and collaboratively to develop individual skills to support the creation and delivery of digital educational resources. Our motto is: "We can't do it for you, but we can do it with you."

We provide:

  • professional development programs to enable self-empowerment in the creation of digital learning resources, including workshops on educational media creation
  • advice and consultation around the myriad issues associated with digital resource creation and delivery
  • facilitation of a Media Developers Group to support an ongoing conversation about educational media production and delivery with the UNSW community.
  • access to cameras, lights, microphones, digital audio recorders, editing workstations and studio with green screen facility
  • referral to qualified freelance production professionals

As we are a small team, we cannot offer personalised production services. But we can refer you to qualified freelance production professionals who can fulfil your production needs. Basically, we will work with anyone who has a good idea and a level head. If you can think strategically to maximise the impact of our combined endeavours, all the better. We encourage the ambitious and enthusiastic.
