Grant Application and Management
This page sets out some useful advice, information and resources to help you develop a strong learning and teaching grant application.
Some of the resources are specific to the Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) grants scheme, but you may also find them useful for internal funding opportunities. Use these resources in conjunction with the related grant or funding guidelines.
Advice from UNSW colleagues
A number of your UNSW colleagues have successfully applied for external learning and teaching grants and can share their experiences.
Talk to a UNSW colleague who has experience of applying for and securing learning and teaching funding. Previous UNSW recipients of the former Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) grants are listed on the OLT website (Select The University of New South Wales into the Institution field and click Search.)
Also take a look at the following resources:
- 12 Steps Toward a Successful Proposal sets out 12 steps to help you develop a successful proposal. Will Rifkin led a project funded through the ALTC Competitive Grant program.
- Watch a video of Will Rifkin talking about the process of successfully applying for an ALTC Grant.
- Watch a video of Gary Velan, Medicine, talking about being an ALTC Grant assessor and what it takes to develop a good application.
