Connections: Peer Evaluation Community of Practice

Launch Meeting

Peer evaluation (embracing review and assessment) engages students in the learning and teaching process and develops their capacity to reflect upon and critically evaluate their own learning and skill development. It supports the development of critical thinking, interpersonal and other skills, as well as enhancing understanding within the field of knowledge of a discipline.

Peer review and assessment applied to both process and product is finding ever-wider application at UNSW, facilitated increasingly through use of technology. This Peer Evaluation CoP, is a means of sharing experiences and pedagogies (the what and why) as well as the technologies (the hows), assisting those with interest to enhance or introduce peer processes in their learning and teaching activities.

In this first meeting of the CoP, participants will discuss their interest in the area and experience to date (if any), identify themes and topics of interest for the group to explore and discuss key issues and needs.

For further information please contact facilitators Julian Cox or Graeme Bushell.
