    Connections Seminar

Learning to love group work: diversified task design to optimise group learning
This seminar was held as part of our weekly Connections in Learning and Teaching seminar series.

Managing group work can be hard when your students say they don't like it - come and see some great ideas from academics who are making it work for themselves and their students, and ask them for their secrets.

The discussion will be led by Dr Branka Spehar, Faculty of Science, Dr Christine van Vliet, Faculty of Medicine, and Janis Wardrop, Australian School of Business. To start with, each panellist will share their practices, which respectively focus on integrating group task with individual assessment, implementing Team-based learning into curriculum and what students learn from an online team simulation. After that, the panel will discuss with participants on issues, questions and concerns regarding group task design as well as group work administration.
