UNSW business intelligence: data architecture and data governance

An overview of business intelligence at UNSW – where we came from, where we are now, and future directions. From local servers to the cloud: AWS, Hadoop and big data future directions for business intelligence at UNSW.

kate_carruthers.jpgKate Carruthers is Chief Data Officer for UNSW, and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science & Engineering. Kate has extensive experience in senior executive roles for diverse organisations such as GE, AMP, Westfield and State Government. She also lectured in postgraduate Business and Accounting at Macquarie University and taught TAFE level courses in Business and Management.
Kate is co-founder of several startups including Social Innovation Sydney, and she is a long-standing member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers and is a member of the Telstra Industry Advisory Board and the NSW Government Data Analytics Centre Advisory Board.
