Protect your teaching material
Finding your educational material on third-party sites is hugely frustrating. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon. A simple solution to reducing the risk of your teaching material being uploaded to unauthorised platforms, such as CourseHero, is placing the UNSW logo on all of your course assets.
Universities are constrained in their ability to demand that their materials are taken down from such third-party sites, unless they are clearly branded.
Please remember to include the UNSW logo or ribbon on all your teaching materials. It makes it legally possible to demand the removal of content because of the unauthorised use of the UNSW brand.
Branding our educational materials is not only about protecting colleagues’ intellectual property – it is also about helping UNSW promote and support student integrity at large. You can download UNSW branded document templates on the Brand website.
