Are you currently reviewing and revising courses in preparation for the UNSW 3+ calendar?
One of the frequently cited challenges is how to manage assessments within the shortened time span of both the teaching and examination periods. To support teachers in addressing this challenge, the PVC Education Office will be facilitating two workshops on the implications of UNSW 3+ on assessments.
Workshop 1: Designing Course Assessments
This workshop will focus on the implications of 3+ when designing course assessments including the choice of appropriate assessment methods, on the amount of assessment, the timing and settings for delivering assessments.
Time: 12:00 – 14:00
Date: Wednesday, 4 April 2018
Location: *New Location* Mathews 101, Mathews Building, UNSW Kensington Campus (Campus map)
Workshop 2: Marking and Feedback
The second workshop will focus on improving the efficiency of marking, from the initial development of marking guides (rubrics) to moderation practices during the marking process, and providing feedback.
Time: 12:00 – 14:00
Date: Thursday, 5 April 2018
Location: *New Location* Mathews 101, Mathews Building, UNSW Kensington Campus (Campus map)
Both workshops will be facilitated by A/Prof Marina Harvey, Director of Academic Services, and Prof Phil Jones, Assessment Lead.
The workshops would benefit staff with specific responsibilities for managing the transition to 3+ in Schools, and teachers, particularly education-focussed academics, currently dealing with these issues. The sessions will provide opportunities for participants to share their challenges and identify solutions. All interested staff are welcome to register for either one or both of these workshops.
Lunch will be provided.
Interested in the workshop(s) but not able to attend on those dates? Please let us know: [email protected] - we will look at organising additional sessions if the demand is high
