  • Digital Uplift team filming in Canberra at Parliament House

As part of the Digital Uplift of ATSI2012: Contemporary Issues in Indigenous Politics, Dr Diana Perche from Nura Gili, and a Digital Uplift team from the PVCE travelled to Canberra last week to film interviews at Parliament House with Senators Malarndirri McCarthy and Patrick Dodson.

These two interviews, along with one filmed with the Hon. Linda Burney MP in Sydney earlier in the month, were arranged with the intention of having these important figures in Indigenous politics speak directly to students about their roles in parliament, and how issues of interest move through the political system. These will serve as tremendously valuable learning resources, as students in this area usually need to infer their understanding of these processes through general texts on political processes, or televised debates and speeches.
