Learning and Teaching Forum

Assessment: Feedback and Beyond

This Forum:

  • Focused on the impact of feedback on students learning.
  • Explored the ways of improving feedback in assessment.
  • Showcased some technologies and assessment strategies that can help us improve learning.
  • Identified areas for improvement, development and change in our assessment practice.

Keynote

The keynote speaker was Professor Royce Sadler, Professor Emeritus of Higher Education, Griffith University and Senior Assessment Scholar (Teaching and Educational Development Institute), The University of Queensland.

Professor Sadler has researched and published widely in the area of formative and summative assessment. His work is focused on academic achievement standards in higher education, and making assessment work more effectively to improve student learning. He is Emeritus Professor at Griffith University, and a member of the editorial advisory boards of two international assessment journals.
