UNSW EF Visiting Teaching Fellowships
Background
The UNSW EF Visiting Teaching Fellowships are designed to build the profile and connections of the UNSW education community with highly regarded educators across the tertiary sector in Australia and internationally. Initiated by a UNSW EF academic staff member, Fellowships provide opportunities to develop educational collaborations and facilitate interaction and engagement with UNSW staff and students.
In 2024 applicants can choose to apply under 4 categories:
- Domestic - UNSW visit only - up to $5,000
- Domestic - Reciprocal - up to $10,000 (over 2 years)
- International - UNSW visit only - up to $10,000
- International - Reciprocal - up to $20,000 (over 2 years)
The EF Visiting Teaching Fellowship Program is continuously evolving and from 2024 we will be introducing new Reciprocal Fellowship categories. A reciprocal Visiting Teaching Fellowship would involve a shared program of activities conducted across UNSW and the Visiting Teaching Fellow’s home institution. The EF Academic applicant would host the Visiting Teaching Fellow while at UNSW; and the Visiting Teaching Fellow would in turn be expected to host the EF Academic at their home institution. The intention of reciprocal visits is to further enable cross-institutional collaborative projects and provide opportunities for EF Academics to be a Visiting Teaching Fellow at another institution. Funds may be used to help cover the costs of travel and associated expenses.
Visiting Teaching Fellows are expected to contribute to the educational work of the EF Development Program, as well as the host’s school and Faculty during the period of their stay through a considered program of activities that take place during the visit. This may include guest lectures, presentations, seminars, workshops, forums, collaborative discussions, drop-in sessions, exhibitions, away days, and other formats. Visiting Teaching Fellows are also required to engage with the wider UNSW education community through these planned events.
Hosts and visitors will be expected to communicate their program of events in advance for promotion by the Education Focussed Development team, and to document their visits for inclusion and promotion in UNSW and EF news and initiatives. Guidelines will be provided to successful applicants.
