The first cohort of FULT 2018 participants has been awarded with their very own FULT eco mug, at the final face-to-face session for this semester.
The eco mug's tag line “Great teachers never stop learning”, was submitted by FULT Alumnus (2015) Louise Baird from Medicine. She also sent us a great selfie of her and her eco mug - thanks so much Louise!
The conscious decision to give a FULT eco mug to participants was a way for them to not only remember the program but also to contribute to a sustainable workplace at UNSW.*
As of 2018, the FULT program is a requirement for all new continuing and fixed term (longer than 12 month contract) academic staff with significant teaching duties at all levels (A-E). The program was redesigned and in 2018, the format aligns with the UNSW 2025 aspirations, Scientia Educational Experience Dimensions and Strategic directions, including enhanced technology use in learning and teaching. FULT is a truly collaborative and integrated program, as participants now register via myUNSW for the course and complete activities, participate in discussions and access course materials via Moodle. The team has collaborated with HR and IT to embed the course into PiMS, which has also seen an increase in participation numbers this year.
Registration for FULT for Semester 2 will open in early June. Please email the FULT team to be put on a reminder list for when registrations open for FULT1802: email@example.com
* The UNSW Sustainability team reported that in Australia we dispose of 1 billion coffee cups and lids per year, with UNSW alone contributing 13.5 million coffee cups and lids per year to that figure. As a community, 94% of all general waste is recycled across our campuses, but there is so much more we could be doing.
