The world leading research flowing out of UNSW Quantum Computing was looking for an engaging way to bring interested people into some of the concepts they use. A simple VR experience looking at the use quantum entanglement in this field allows visitors and High School students interested in their work to be inspired to find out more.
Project Details
Building upon a much earlier idea, this new version of the Quantum Entanglement mini-sim is a very light way for players to be inspired by the concepts of quantum physics being used in the quantum computing field. One of the key uses was at the special Quantum Computing High School event where prospective students could do the VR experience along with many other workshops and presentations.
TECHNOLOGY & DEVELOPMENT
The project is in a stable state at present with only minor updates as required in collaboration with Engineering staff. The staff and work integrated learning student developers are using the Unity game engine to bring together all the elements and deliver the VR experience using our Meta Quest 3 headsets.
