Context
The Master of Pharmaceutical Medicine program has been delivered by UNSW for over 20 years. In 2016, it was extensively revised and moved to a fully online delivery mode. This video explains the steps involved in the transformation of the program – steps that can be applied to the revision of any other program or course across the university.
Tool
The program revision model is a cyclical process, moving through the following stages:
- Review
- Benchmarking
- Stakeholder survey
- Gap analysis
- Course development
- Formal approval
- Implementation
- Review
Results
The revised program continues to be offered in a fully online mode with high student satisfaction and excellent graduate outcomes.
Impact
The impact of this program transformation to a fully online program is that it takes advantage of the affordances of the online environment to deliver cutting-edge, authentic education to our students in an easily-accessible manner for the busy working professional trying to upskill their education and employment prospects.
