Education events and news at UNSW

An annual festival encompassing the former Learning & Teaching Forum and events from UNSW faculties that inspire, elevate and celebrate education in our UNSW community. The festival fosters cross-faculty connections and collaborations, featuring presentations from various parts of our institution.

The SEA Lecture Series highlights the thought-leadership and innovative educational strategies and practices of our outstanding educators and their esteemed networks. Through the lectures, our UNSW Scientia Education Academy promotes educational excellence, and facilitates high-level discussions about the future of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. 

This series of workshops provides information, engaging activities and collaborative opportunities. They aim to support the development of inclusive teaching pedagogy and understanding of underrepresented student cohorts. 

Understand the concept of SoTL and discuss why it’s important to engage in educational research and evaluation. Learn real-life examples from SoTL experts on how SoTL strategies have been used to impact student learning and how you can integrate them into your teaching.

LET'S Meet consists of a dynamic range of sessions designed for both new and existing staff, held at the beginning of each term. These sessions aim to enhance your skills with UNSW's wide range of centrally supported digital teaching tools.

The UNFED sessions are an opportunity for faculty staff who support teaching, learning and digital learning to get together as a group to share experiences, discuss common issues and make contact with other staff interested in and committed to educational development. 

Lightning Workshops are hands-on 1 hour sessions designed to enhance the teaching skills and courses of UNSW academics in a collaborative environment. During each workshop, participants have the opportunity to design, refine, and implement strategies to enhance their students' learning experience.

Peer-to-peer sharing of best practice, innovation and ideas in university learning and teaching. The seminars are open to all staff and provide a forum to share ideas and get feedback on practice and research.

The EF CoPs Lunch and Learn series is hosted by the EF Communities of Practice. Hosted in the Teaching Commons, EF CoP Lunch & Learns are open to all staff from across UNSW interested in learning and teaching. Each session features a different format and guest speakers ranging from presentations, workshops, panels, discussions and professional development activities, and kicks off with a networking lunch.
