The Team
Having a dedicated in-house team capable of co-creating specialised educational resources is a powerful resource for academics leading the way with innovation in their teaching. Whether the newly crafted tools are able to support learning across UNSW or solve a unique problem in one course our team looks to leverage new technologies like AI, VR and interactive media.

Work Integrated Learning Student Partners:
At any point in time we have around 25 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) student placements working with the team on all our projects.
These range from Software Engineering Thesis and Master of Simulation and Immersive Technology Capstones to Media Arts and Design placements.

Services
Previously I just had paper, or I just draw things on paper or on a blackboard and they are really just shadows, two dimensional shadows of something that really belongs in 3D. I took that idea to the Immersive Technologies team and they said 'that's a great idea' we'll make that happen and they did (MathVR). For me personally, being able to look at a room full of students wearing VR goggles and being taught mathematics, but with a smile on their face. It was a real eye-opening experience for me.

LITEroom and Innovation Precinct
Located around the back of the UNSW Main Library (building F21 Kensington Campus in Sydney) - right next to the Post Office in the white passage with the sliding glass doors at either end.

Our open doors leads to the creative workspace (room 178) where our staff and WIL students collaborate to develop the platforms, simulations and experiences.

PVCE Media team
The Media Team provide advice on technologies, applications and equipment that enable academic staff to design, develop and integrate digital media resources into a course of study. They assist in media production for teaching purposes and have professional facilities that are available for this purpose.
IT Multimedia, Audio Visual & Immersive team
The MAVI Services team in IT manages these resources for UNSW and there is a strong collaboration with the Immersive Team - sharing space, projects, initiatives and the exploration of these technologies.
